AC Tips for Working From Home

In today’s world, more and more people have started working from home either more often, or indefinitely. If this is you, this means that you’re probably spending more time at home now than ever before. We know how important comfortability is within the home, but we all want to be just as comfortable while working too. Keeping a good work environment can actually boost your productivity! So now that your home has also become your office, it’s more important than ever to make sure your HVAC system is running as efficiently as possible, especially if it’s running more often. Here are a few tips to help you keep your air conditioner working at it’s optimal performance, so that you can too.

Use a Fan

Using a fan is a great way to cut down on cooling costs when its hot outside, and they are great companions to your AC system too. Additionally, fans help with improving circulation around the home, which helps with the overall comfort of the space. If you dont have a ceiling fan in your workspace, think about buying a small desktop fan or a portable floor fan to keep in this space. Make sure to turn any fans off when you leave the room though to conserve energy!

Buy a Zoning System

If youre planning on working from home for an extended period of time, purchasing a zoning system might be a great investment for you! Zoning systems let you to control the temperature settings in different areas of your house. This just means that you can keep your office space properly cooled while youre working during the day, and keep the rest of your house at a warmer temperature while you’re not occupying it. This may result in some overall money savings via energy bills.

Put in an Air Purifier

When working from home, its still just as important to make sure your your health continues to stay a top priority. Make sure that the air that youre breathing in is clean by using an air purifier to reduce dust and other particles in the air. Not only do air purifiers reduce dust, they also help get rid of germs and unwanted odors in your home too!

Change the Air Filters

Your HVAC system uses an air filter to trap the dust, and other particles in your home, but if you dont change them often, you can end up with a clogged air filter. Although it may not sound like a huge deal, not changing your air filters out every 30-60 days can drastically lower your overall air quality. Make sure to check your air filters once a month and be sure to change them out as needed. You can even order new filters directly from us so that you have an extra on hand at all times. Surfaces in your workplace can get dusty quickly, which can lead to poor indoor air quality. To guard against this, try to regularly dust in these areas to prevent larger buildups of dust. Keep some microfiber dust cloths on hand to use as a quick wipe down of any dusty surfaces within your office. Not only is it more aesthetically pleasing, but it will help keep your work environment healthy too!
